The colour of a passport is the last thing that Scottish people care about just now.
I genuinely can't remember the colour of a passport ever coming up in my regular discussions with local constituents about key issues.
But for Humza Yousaf and the SNP, this is apparently a pressing priority.
Last week, the nationalists launched their latest government paper on independence.
The centre-piece of it was a plan for a new colour of passport. Or really, a return to the previous old colour of passport when we were in the European Union.
It really is jaw-dropping that this is what the SNP are wasting government time and resources on. Worse than that, they're wasting taxpayers' money - your money - to draw up these proposals.
The SNP Government lurches from one crisis to another. It is constantly dealing with another scandal. Yet the colour of a passport is what Humza Yousaf is focused on? That's what he thinks government time and public money should be spent on?
It doesn't get more out-of-touch than that. The SNP are living in their own wee world. They seem utterly oblivious and ignorant to the huge challenges facing our country.
Just think about all the key issues the SNP Government is ignoring to focus on their own selfish obsession.
There's a global cost-of-living crisis leaving hardworking families struggling to make ends meet.
There's a huge problem with standards in our schools, which have tumbled down international league tables on the SNP's watch.
There's a growing violence against women issue, with domestic abuse and sex crimes hitting new highs.
There's a ferry scandal that has left Scottish islanders unable to access basic services.
There's the worst drug death crisis in Europe, all because of SNP failures to provide the necessary services.
Those are just some - not even close to all - of the key challenges that Scotland is facing under the SNP.
That's why it's so shameful that the First Minister believes independence and the colour of a passport should be the central focus of his government.
We have so many vast problems to tackle - but Humza Yousaf has his head in the sand.
His priorities are deeply flawed. His eye is off the ball. He is distracted by another referendum - even though a majority of Scotland doesn't want another divisive vote like that.
Especially now, it is a disgrace that the SNP are off plotting how to split up Scotland. Just now is a critical moment for our country. Rarely have public services ever been this stretched before in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic and in the midst of the energy crisis that has gripped the globe.
In Scotland, the problem is particularly acute because the SNP Government has slashed funding to councils for years.
All of those vital services that councils provide - from school management to bin collection to road repair - were already close to breaking point because of SNP cuts.
Now, essential council services are at real risk of falling apart unless the SNP delivers the necessary support this year.
As the new Deputy Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Local Government, I'll be pressing them to make sure that happens.
But first, we need the SNP to set aside their selfish obsession with independence.
The challenges facing Scotland demand Humza Yousaf's attention. He has to govern for the whole country, not just for independence supporters. He has to finally act in the national interest, not keep pushing the nationalist cause.
