Businesswoman and community volunteer Pam Gosal has been selected to fight the Clydebank and Milngavie constituency for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist party in next year’s Scottish Parliament election.
Pam, who lives in Milngavie with her husband and two children is also a community volunteer with Milngavie in bloom and has vowed to protect the area’s greenbelt and boost its infrastructure.
With a background in economic development in Scotland and the rest of the U.K, Pam is putting jobs and the economic recovery at the heart of her campaign.
She says that the area is continuing to expand, but enough resources are not being provided by the SNP Government in order to sustain the demands for greater infrastructure.
Pam, who also stood for the Scottish Conservatives in last year’s General Election for the East Dunbartonshire seat, says these are the issues voters want to focus on, rather than the SNP’s constant talk of another independence referendum.
Ms Gosal said: “I am absolutely delighted to be selected to fight this seat for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist party.
“This is where I am proud to call home and it would be an honour to represent and stand up for this seat in the Scottish Parliament.
“I already love volunteering in this community and while engaging with voters will be different due to Covid restrictions, I’m looking forward to hearing about the issues that matter in Milngavie.
“Our greenbelt must be protected and I will be working closely with local stakeholders in order to protect our farms and wildlife and natural beauty.
“Milngavie is an excellent area to live, but we need greater support to boost our infrastructure to cope with the demand on our vital public services.
“We must also continue to do everything we can to protect jobs and kick-start our economic recovery, which I am widely experienced in.
“Our area needs to move away from constant talk of another divisive referendum, and I am firmly committed to focusing on standing up for the issues that really matter to the people across the constituency.”
